Update on Adoption!

Today we had our Home Study and, thank the Lord, it went great! She was here for about 3 1/2 hours and she now knows a LOT about us. God was in it every step of the way... we were a little anxious about her being able to be here on the scheduled date or not completing it b/c of the nasty weather forecast but God took care of that! We were also uncertain about how it would go with Mimi not being able to be here to entertain the boys while we talked, but our wonderful across the street neighbor was available to keep them during this time... thank you Mrs. Misti and family!! God is so good and he takes care of us. We are thrilled to report that she is very comfortable "approving" us to receive another beautiful child into our family!

We are super excited about this little girl, whenever she is brought into our family and are eager to bring her home as soon as possible. We asked about the wait time at this point thinking more like 9 months or so, but were a little sad to find it will most likely be longer... more like 12-18 months. This time next year is more likely that we will receive a "referral". Every case is different, but this is what is most likely to happen. Ethiopia is becoming more popular in international adoption cases, b/c China takes so long and some other countries are closing or making it more difficult. Since there are more cases and the same amount of staff, each case takes a little longer to process. We are continuing to pray for patience, wisdom and understanding. We know God has a specific and special plan for our family and our little girl, and we are just fine with what He has in store!
