January 23, 1971
On a special day in January of 1971
God blessed a young couple with a beautiful baby son.
His mama Cissy held him close and stared into his eyes.
His daddy George oohed and ahhed and squeezed his chubby thighs.
They prayed his life would honor Father all of his many days...
Little did they know those days weren't so far away.
Little Kent asked Jesus into his heart at the tender age of six.
He knew God had a plan for him. This child God did pick...
To love Him, serve Him, walk the world with Him and never let Him go,
To carry out His message so all the world would know.
Over the years, this precious life has experienced some fire -
So much more than his parents would ever, ever desire.
But despite the rain, despite the pain, through tears he never showed -
He's never given up on Father, and Father's never let him go.
A beautiful man of God he has become and Father is so proud -
Even though this life's had pain, it has blessings nice and loud!
A wife that loves him dearly and thanks God for him every day,
Two boys that can drive him crazy, but wouldn't have it any other way!
His family and friends, both near and far, would definitely have to say...
They are blessed to know this man God brought us on that January day!
