Adoption etc...

So for those I don't see or talk to much, here is some adoption news... not much, but something!

We have now been officially "waiting" for a little over 14 mos, as you can see on the side of this blog. Last month, the average wait time for us was 14 mos! Now it is 15 mos... we consistently seem to be ONE MONTH behind the average wait time. God's timing... right? :) We are in the top 10 of waiting families, so it could really be ANY day now to receive our referral! Every day we pray for her and she is consistently on our hearts and minds, even the boys, especially with what is going on in her home country. Our hearts are breaking for those beautiful people in her country and the surrounding countries as well. PLEASE pray for these people and for peace!

We are in the process of scheduling our second homestudy, which we didn't think we would have to do, but here we are! Then after that, some more updated paperwork we had to take care of... fingerprinting clearances, employment letters, financial statements, homestudy, etc... will be sent to USCIS for our officially updated "approval" and then to Ethiopia! Whew!

It all may sound intimidating and overwhelming, but when someone walks you through everything every step of the way (Thanks Gladney... or caseworker Kristin) it isn't too bad!! Don't let that silly paperwork stop ANY ONE of you from adopting if it is on your heart!!! :)

Soooo wish I had more, but that is it! Hopefully next time I post about anything adoption, it will be about our REFERRAL!! ;)
